There has been some comment over the years about our former and current business logos.
Our primary reasons for selecting a logo were: something old, and public domain, to avoid any copyright issues.
And something that we could have printed in cheap black-and-white onto custom-made parcel tape, cardboard boxes and so on, avoiding the higher costs involved in multi-colour printing.
Current Symbol (Awen)
As with the older logo, we primarily chose this because it is a simple, easy-to-print and recognisable image in black and white, and is a public domain image.
The meaning of "Awen" is from ancient Welsh mythology, and means something like "creative energy" and "inspiration".
Former Symbol (Sun Wheel)
For many years, we used the ancient "sun wheel" symbol. We chose it because it looks a little like radio waves emanating from a source.
However, like many other pagan symbols, it had been "hijacked" by the "bad old Germans" and has recently been used as a hate symbol.
So, we decided to change our logo.
